Tune Dropper is designed to be playable without creating a player account. We try to collect only the information needed to operate, secure, and improve the service.
Information we may process
- Basic technical information: our hosting and infrastructure providers may receive information such as IP address, browser type, device information, request timestamps, and diagnostic logs when you use the site.
- Playback error reports: when an embedded song cannot play, Tune Dropper may record the song ID, YouTube video ID, YouTube error code, and the page URL so an administrator can repair the catalog.
- Administrator accounts: administrators use email/password authentication. Admin account information is handled through Supabase authentication.
- Messages you send us: if you contact us by email, we receive the information you choose to include in that message.
Usage and gameplay analytics
Tune Dropper uses first-party gameplay analytics stored through Supabase so we can understand how the game is used, maintain the catalog, and improve play. These records may include a randomly generated visitor-session identifier; landing path, referring domain, and campaign parameters such as UTM tags; broad device, browser, operating-system, language, timezone, and screen-size categories; and game activity.
For Party Play, game activity may include requested and actual song count, hit level, clip length, progressive mode, selected genres and eras, song identifiers, songs started or revealed, clip extensions, replays, YouTube error codes, and whether a game was completed or abandoned. For Solo Play, it may include the selected Solo game mode, song and question identifiers, question type and question text, whether a question was completed, skipped, or encountered a playback error, answer-attempt and wrong-attempt counts, replays, response time, total game time, completion status, and first-try performance derived from those records.
The Tune Dropper first-party visitor identifier is stored in browser sessionStorage for the current browser tab/session. It is not a player account and is not intended to identify you by name or email.
Google Analytics
Tune Dropper also uses Google Analytics to measure site traffic and usage. Google Analytics may collect session statistics, approximate geographic information, and browser/device information, and may use first-party cookies such as _ga to distinguish browsers and sessions. Tune Dropper does not intentionally send player names or player email addresses to Google Analytics. See Google's Privacy Policy for information about Google's data practices.
Meta Pixel, Conversions API, and advertising measurement
Tune Dropper uses the Meta Pixel and Meta Conversions API, provided by Meta Platforms, Inc., to measure visits and selected gameplay actions and to understand whether advertising leads to actual game play. These tools may send browser-side and server-side event information to Meta, including page URLs, referring information, browser and device information, IP address, Meta cookie or click identifiers when present, and events such as game starts, game completions, Solo game completions, and Solo result shares.
Tune Dropper does not intentionally send player names, player email addresses, answer choices, or administrator account information to Meta through the Pixel or Conversions API. Meta may use cookies, identifiers, or similar technologies to provide measurement, advertising, and related services in accordance with its own policies. See Meta's Privacy Policy for information about Meta's data practices.
Music, hosting, and third-party services
Tune Dropper uses the YouTube embedded player. When the player loads or plays, your browser may send basic device, request, cookie/storage, and usage information to Google/YouTube for playback, restrictions, security, analytics, and related service purposes. Tune Dropper also uses Supabase for database, gameplay-analytics, and administrator-authentication services, and Vercel to host and deliver the website. These providers may process technical request information as part of providing their services.
Cookies and local browser storage
The public game does not require a Tune Dropper player account. Tune Dropper uses browser sessionStorage for its first-party visitor-session identifier, and administrator login uses browser session storage to keep an admin session active. Google Analytics may set first-party analytics cookies, Meta may use cookies or similar technologies for advertising measurement, and YouTube may use cookies or similar browser storage when its embedded player is loaded or used.
How we use information
We use information to operate the game, maintain the song catalog, diagnose playback problems, secure administrator access, respond to messages, improve the service, and measure whether marketing and advertising lead to meaningful game activity.
Sharing
Tune Dropper does not intentionally provide player names or player email addresses to advertisers. Information may be processed by service providers that help us host, measure, advertise, secure, authenticate, or deliver Tune Dropper, including Vercel, Supabase, Google Analytics, Meta, and YouTube, and may be disclosed when required by law or necessary to protect the service and its users.
Retention
We retain operational and administrative information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described above, subject to backup, security, and legal requirements.
